The Handmaid's tale
Apr. 29th, 2017 11:50 amNow that was chillingly good. I just watched the first three episodes that are already out and there could not possibly be a more relevant, intelligent and masterfully acted show at this moment.
In the third episode they move past the book (or rather deviate from it) but it is very well done and the elements they added adhere to the principle Atwood used when writing the book that all the forms of torture and oppression that occure in the book are based on reality.
I have to see the complete series and then probably watch it again.

How important it is to be able to fight. How important it is to keep some key knowledge (say about abortives) in the public sphere and so on.
It's painful to watch and they actually added to the horrors of the book, but it is also very relevant and very good.
