Lost my voice completely  and am staying home from work today, which is one hand ouch, but on the other handit isthe first day in a very long time, where I can just stay in bed and write to my LJ, or in this case DW, because I should really stick with the move.

If anyone is in need of codes, please let me know.

I also finally havethe time to read the Mountains of Madness Campaign I bought a while ago and plan to run next year. It is so neat and shiny and I can't wait to talk again and run it. Has anyone on here played the american version?

Also watched a lot of tv but the only thing I really want to talk about is homeland, it was easily the best new thing this year.

cut for spoilers )

TV meme

Since being sick is boring, boring, boring I thought I'd join the crowd and do the tv meme, even if I am a bit sketchy about the date line.

Which TV shows did you start watching in 2011?

Homeland, American Horror Story, Game of Thrones, Grimm, Once Upon A Time, Ringer, Revenge and Breaking Bad.

There was some good stuff in the first half of the year, but aside from homeland the autumn shows were a bit disappointing. I was especially looking forward to the fairy tail shows which were both kind of meh.

Which TV shows did you let go of in 2011?

Grimm and Ringer right after starting them and I kind of stopped watching Supernatural and Merlin, both of which are nice and slashy and all but have run themselves dead on more of the same. Too much episodic storytelling, too little storyarc and even what is there could be better. I think Naomi Novik's Merlin fanfic killed it off for me, because the (very offhanded) storytelling (between the porn) was so much better than the show ever came to be. Also Chuck, it is just over. Stop it.

Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?

Boardwalk Empire and The Wire. Next year.

Which TV shows do you intend on checking out in 2012?

I don't know. Several new seasons of old shows, but I have no idea what is coming up in 2012. Maybe American Gods, if it is really happening?

Which TV show impressed you least in 2011?

Ringer...and the fairy tale shows. They could have been so interesting. And as much as I dislike Willingham and his politics, Fables still blows both of them out of the water, simply by being innovative instead of mainstream and trying to please everybody.

Which TV show do you think you might let go of in 2012 unless things significantly improve?

Dexter, but it has shown before that it can get from bad to superb again.

Which TV show impressed you the most in 2011? Why?

Just talking new shows here, so I will leave out Breaking Bad which continues to be my favourite thing since chocolate. I'd go with Homeland. Never thought a terrorist drama could be good, but they managed. Three truly fantastic actors all settled with difficult contradictive roles and brilliant dialogue. Where's the next season?

Which TV shows do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?

I don't know. I think the cursed Buffy comics are the crappy thing I stuck with the longest. TV shows usually just quietly fade into the background of my brain until I am too lazy to dl.

Shows I watched and loved that aren't mentioned on this list because I started them in another year

Doctor Who, Misfits, Being Human, Sherlock, The Good Wife...
