I'm so addicted to this show! I finally managed to get into the Borgias too and while it's good and a lot more enjoyable than Tudors, Game of Thrones just makes everything else look a bit pale beside it. So much cool stuff this episode.

It starts out with Bran having the first dream of the three eyed crow. Not my favorite part of the books, but well at least it's brief on the show and of course I love Tyrion's  appearance in Winterfell and his little speech about broken things. And really the title says it all this episode because there is a lot of focus on how people are maimed and broken in some way (Tyrion, Sam, Bran, Jon, Arya, the Hound, Littlefinger...) and what it turns them into. They have a clearer, darker view on human nature in many ways and with that comes maybe occasionally kindness but also hardness and paranoia in other cases.

Tyrion as always prefers honesty and spreads it on every one who wants (or does not want it), like Theon. Grrr. Hate him already.

Meanwhile Viserys is talking lots about dragons while fucking Danys sex-hand maiden...I'm not too fond of the scene. It wasn't really necessary to make it a sex scenes ( especially since it's cooler to introduce the dragon bones when Arya finds them) and there are quite a few in the books. I see no reason to add some. Also I wonder, how they will handle Shae when she shows up. Contrary to this scene, the sex scenes with Shae and Tyrion are an important part of the plot and I can't help but wonder if we will see any naked Tyrion or only naked Shae.

Dany fights back to Viserys attempts of abuse, can't be long until he gets his crown now. It's I think the storyline where the books narrative is missing the most.  I think since Dany is an introverted person it's hard to understand her from the outside tv perspective. Also if they plan on her being totally happy with Drogo, they should not have gone with rape  in the pilot but taken the time for the sex scene.

On the wall Samwell Tarley is introduced. Love the character, another misfit in a pretty cruel world and I love how even the first ep you get that there is so much more to him. Also Ghost finally got to show up again.

Loved Arya's little scene, no, it really is not her. This mirrors Sam nicely. In this society roles are so clear cut for people and those who are talented in directions that don't befit their birth really don't have an easy time finding their way.

Ned is starting to sniff around the Jon Arryn mystery with Littlefinger's help and gets an idea about what is going on though he does not suspect that the kids are not Robert's yet. He's rather clumsy about everything he does. Poor Ned.
I adore the scene between Jory and Jaime. Yeah, the incestuous twins are the bad guys but it's real easy to understand why they hate Robert and Jaime might throw children from towers but he still has a heart you can stab in.

Also poor Sansa, Jeoff is an asshole to her, her wolf is dead and she is starting to attract creepy men already. Considering how Petyr acts with her in the last book, the scene between them is absoltely repulsive. He sees Catelynn all over again and you can see how it still stings him when Arya calls his nickname. He likes Sansa much more, mini Catelynn, thirteen and impressionable, with his little story about the hound. Another tale of someone who was broken, clashing harshly with all romantic legends in Sansa's imagination.

And of course the guy who could have given Ned informaton is timely killed in the tourney, while Cersei tries to reason a bit with Ned. I love how much is going down in their talk and how with all the doublespeak they are also talking past each other in many ways. Ned will get soon what is going down, but he doesn't take Cersei for full.

And then Catelynn makes a heraldic roll and totally clears the board for poor Tyrion. She's badass, even if she's totally on the wrong trail.
